Safety comes first

If there is an active danger or injury, follow emergency services and police direction.

Report the claim promptly

The insurer will need policy, vehicle, driver, location, injury and damage information.

Keep records

Photos, claim numbers, repair estimates and insurer communications can help later.

Do not admit or dispute legal liability on the roadside

The insurer applies Ontario's Fault Determination Rules to determine insurance fault.
