Different coverages can have different deductibles

Collision, comprehensive, all perils, specified perils and DCPD can have separate deductible arrangements.

Higher deductible can lower premium

FSRA notes that increasing a deductible can reduce premium, but increases the amount the insured may pay on a claim.

Compare actual dollars

The annual premium difference should be compared with the additional out-of-pocket exposure.

Do not raise a deductible beyond what you could realistically pay
