Uninsured automobile coverage in Ontario

Ontario's standard policy includes uninsured-automobile coverage for specified injury/death and property-damage situations involving uninsured or unidentified motorists.

FSRA lists uninsured automobile coverage among standard coverages.

Property damage rules are narrower

FSRA notes that damage to the insured vehicle may be covered when the uninsured owner or driver can be identified.

Family protection is different

OPCF 44R is an optional endorsement that can extend protection in underinsured/uninsured circumstances to the policy's liability limit, subject to its terms.
